I decided to go with the 111 Trophy hunter in .270. This will be my first left handed rifle . I've been hunting with right handed rifles since I started hunting and shooting them left handed. It seemed like to good of a deal to pass up coming with a Nikon 3-9 × 40 bdc already to hunt for 500$. I looked at a tikka to lefty but would have been a little out of my price range after I had to put a scope on it.Hope this turns out to be a great rifle. I loved my savage I had as my first rifle. It was a tack driver. A l so anxious to see what the accu - trigger is like. Anyone else have one ?

Don't have a 111 but you should be happy with that gun. IMO savage is the most accurate out of the box rifle under $1k.

It will be a good gun for you. Trigger is good to go right out of the box. Later on... you can get a Boyds laminated stock for it around $100 and have as nice a rifle as a guy would ever need if he intended on hunting with it.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I added a genuine Savage 114 Walnut stock to mine from Numrich, was about $145. Required a new bottom metal piece from Savage which was about $20 (my 111 had the bottom metal molded into the stock). Added a LOT of weight and the gun is gorgeous now.

No such thing as an inaacurate savage. As mentioned the only negative to that rifle is the stock and thats not a big deal as long as you like it.

I have 3, 3006, 300 mag, 270wsm, love the trigger, on the magnums I plan to upgrade the scopes, but the price including the nikon is too good to over look. i very happy with mine, good choice

Was thinking of upgrading the scope anyways and putting the nikon that comes with it on my wife's remington 7600 carbine in 308 and taking the iron sights off it.

ditto on the boyd's stock. It improved mine's feel and looks substantially.

Trigger actually took me a while to get used to but now I can't stand to shoot a rifle without the accu trigger
