For the price, not bad for what you get. Biggest reason I didn't get one was that it comes with only 65 ft of cable. Seems like a lot unless you have ever used a winch with a snatch block. For the same price I would choose smittybilt or the tiger winch over badland all day - comes with 95 ft of rope:

I have the 9,000 lb smittybuilt and it has been good so far. Saved me 3-4 times and I pulled out a good sized tractor last weekend with it. I did a lot of research on the "off brand" winches after I sold my Warn with my last truck. I couldn't find hardly any negative reviews on the Smittbuilt. I'm sure it's not built like a Warn or Ramsey but so far mine has done well.

Got the 12K and I havent put it to any heavy use yet, just playing around pulling up a few small trees. Its HEAVY though and well built. Got it for 299 when it was on sale. Plus I got it for 20% more after that cause I was buying a couple larger items and the manager there hooked me up. So 239 and some change. grin

As far as the ATV winches I have burned up a couple 2K but always buy the extended warranty and just swap out. I was doing things with them they werent designed to do though. whistle

They get really good reviews from several off-road publications.

Got the 12k and it's never let me down whether it be pulling the truck out or standing up a damn shooting house.

I have a 12K on my dually 4x4 and have used it to pull 3 20' section of a poplar that was about 38" over 50' up out of my front yard. and it held up just fine.
