Hens pulled ours away. He gobbled maybe 15 times on the ground.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I walked I've two miles this morning. No sign of a turkey to be found.

Got on a gobbling bird on the roost and as I closed the distance he slipped a gobble and let it be known he was a jake or at least sounded like it. I called the 2 of them in on 3 different setups this morning while prospecting. Their gobbles got worse the more they let it eat. Seed for next year.

Called 1 up at 9:30 but my buddies son couldn't get on him before he walked off

I wish I could breathe life back into him,

If I could I'd hunt him again tomorrow. ..

Set up 40 yards from one off the roost. Didn't intend on getting that close!! Could have blasted him from the tree, but wanted to play the game with him. He flew down to 30 yards, but I had no shot. He walked down the ridge and got with another gobbler. I made a move and called them to 50-60 yards, but they never crested the hill. I know where they'll be if I get the chance before work this week!!
