Does anyone else do this, to see if they are Bred?? This is our first time to try it. I done 34 heifers this morning in about a hour. Fixing to ship them off and see which ones are bred. We breed on a 66 day window, so all we need to know if I'd they are bred or not. Just trying to implement this to cut down on Vet bills. It is actually really simple. Suppose to be 92% accurate to what I read on it.

Did you bleed them from underneath the tail?

Did you bleed them from underneath the tail? Yes. Took about 2 seconds per cow.

Why not use the blood/milk/urine pregnancy tests or is the cost much difference? Hard to get milk from a heifer. We just thought we would try this route.

My brother and I did it once when we had cattle and it worked pretty good, we were able to see almost exactly the day they were bred. But our vet mrs. Carter was almost just as good with the hand in the butt method so we just decide to continue using her

I figured you just carry around a photo of TC. The heifers that run are the ones he molested.
Pregnant and violated and just violated are two completely different thangs though.

Did you bleed them from underneath the tail? Yes. Took about 2 seconds per cow. It only takes 2 seconds per cow when you get good at it. The first ones I did probably had their tail fall off from the number of puncture wounds after I bled them.

But I am looking for ways to cut cost. Vet's are raping farmers, for simple stuff like this, herdwork etc, etc.. IMO

I thought yall were going to buy a sonogram unit or whatever that new fangled equipment was that you posted last year. I've never drew blood from a cow so no help there. We did use that one time. We put some Heifers in special consignment sale. So, we needed to see which ones was heifers and which ones was bulls. Very $$$$

Never pulled blood for preg tests, but have bled a lot for other tests, and giving IV meds in the tail. And no matter how good you are, there are some that are a pain to hit.
