How bad do you think wild hogs affect turkeys? I have heard they'll bust up a nest with all of their rooting around. This is the first club I've been in with this bad of a hog problem. Wondered if any of you have a club with lots of hogs and how it has affected your turkey Hunting.
Thanks

I've never been in many clubs with hogs so I don't have a lot of experience. I have been hunting a piece of propery this season in South Alabama that has a big swamp on it. On the edge of the swamp is a plowed greenfield. Right inside the swamp there is rooting and hog wallows everywhere. They've even ventured out into the field and rooted big holes around the edges and in the roads. I got charged by a big boar a couple of weeks back while turkey hunting and had to put two loads of TSS in his face to turn him off of me.

We've killed about 6 gobblers out of that area and seen or heard 10 - 11 more. They seem to coexist pretty well from what I have seen in my limited experience.

Ive felt like the hunting is better. Birds seem to be drawn to where hogs root. All the fresh dirt makes a good place to scratch and dust.

I bought a 20 ga for my wife and Brandon helped me load up about 40 shots worth before season came in. I happened to take the 20 in the woods that day.
