If there where turkey there 5 years ago you were lucky. I have 700 acres that hasn't seen a bird in 8 years

It really is crazy. Strange for things to happen so quickly. Someone had to be aware at the TN game fish yet they seem clueless too.

Turkeys have almost went extinct in the southern parts of Hardin, Wayne and Lawrence. I hear Giles also but don't know enough folks there.

I know lots of big properties that used to have 10+ long beards that have 0, not even a hen.

I've made two hunts in the northern part of Wayne also abs wasn't impressed.

Northern Lauderdale is way down to in Al.

Something definitely going on.

Started in 2006-2007. They are gone, dead, bye, we out! They don't know what happened and it is still getting worse.

X2. Decline happened a few years before then.

I hunt Giles alot and in my experience it has gone down as well. The harvest numbers still say it is better than most counties, but it has been the northern half of the of county. But now it is declining.

Still declining in Linestone and Lauderdale Alabama too.

Ain't no one listening or doing anything about it right now. They are conducting studies that will take years to see the results of. There will be widespread population declines through much of the south by the time they come to a conclusion.

Yekrut, sometimes I think that they do not care enough about it, especially in Tennessee. I read a "Turkey Country" article a few months ago about relocating birds from around here to Texas and other places.

If turkey hunting had the same money and "cool" factor as stupid deer, they would probably do more about it.
Let them keep killing hens and not try to fix anything.
