Otter Box is better. Daughter had Life proof on and iPhone and dropped the phone and it cracked the screen. I've had otter boxes on all of my phones with the zagg invisible shields for the screen. I've never had a problem with a damaged phone because of dropping it.

I have the Galaxy S5 with a camo Otter Box. It's been working fine for over a year. I don't have any experience with the Life Proof brand.

Urban Armour Gear...that's what I have for my G5, works great. It's already survived several falls onto concrete, light & thin. Check them out.

Neither. I had a lifeproof and broke it and I've had other "high quality" name brand cases and broke them too. In my line of work, I am real rough on a phone. This is the only case that I've found that will actually hold up to being dropped from 10-15 feet and having welding slag hit it quite often. It's also the cheapest case I've ever used. Unless you're wanting a sticker for your truck window to impress your friends, IMO, you won't find a better case. I have an iPhone 4S that I've had for over 4 years. It still works as good as the day I bought it. I feel that is due to the case I use. I have broken the glass in one case. I dropped my phone and it hit the concrete floor in our shop completely flat on the face. It landed on a 1/2" nut and that's what broke the glass

I've had both. Both are OK.

Ottorbox: Bigger, grippy-er rubber stays put in a car dash, etc., speaker phone works, not water resistant

Life Proof: Thinner, smooth surface slides around, speaker phone/mic useless, water resistant

I have had both...Life Proof is awesome but the only problem with it is that everyone complains that you sound like your in a tunnel when you talk as well as it muffles others voices so hard to hear which is a definite pain in the rear. I now have the OB and its served me well so far. Best thing about the life proof is that its fully waterproof but it is a pain to plug into a speaker and what not. Both have done a great job protecting my phone though.

I like an Otter Box. Been using them for several years. I have no experience with Life Proof.

The S5 is already waterproof so that makes that feature of a lifeproof invalid. Otter boxes is better against impact than a lifeproofs, so I have mine in an Otter box. If it was an iphone I'd say lifeproof.

I have had both on the same I phone I have had since 2010. I'm rough on cases.

The otter box did well but was a pain to get in/out of your pocket and not water proof, and the rubber casing tore up.

The life proof has been good, but The charging door gets in the way as it only opens 90* and the speaker connection jack is a pain. But it is much thinner than the OB and works well in pockets. But the rubber around the screen is starting to
Come off.

Both have protected my phone well from drops onto concrete, rocks and other hard surfaces.

Both have their positives and negatives.

My wife has a pelican on her Samsung 5s and I like it, it is a combo of both the OB and LP and has kept hers from being broken more times than I could tell you....

None, you don't need a case.
