My advice is try them on period. No matter what brand they'll feel different. I have a pair of Rocky's that I like because they are lightweight, but they were stiff as heck until I got them broke in. I have heard good reviews from Danners as well.

I don't know if they carry Chippewa's, but I bought a pair of them before turkey season last year and really like them. No leaking at all so far too which is a first for a pair of snakeboots for me. They are expensive though Yep. I had a pair last me about 5 years. Still good boots but I wore through the gore tex lining and they leak now. Pros: Longevity Tough as nails Wear like sneakers Cons: Expensive Heavy Sole isn't agressive like I would like.

Trade it for a cabelas card and get the cabelas lace ups. I've had mine 2 years and they are still 99% waterproof. I haven't seen a boot that was 100% after a year. They might make some but I'm not spending $300 on boots.

They are expensive though They do but didn't see them in any camo color. Not so worried about that during bow season but turkey season is a different matter. And yeah, they are about $100 more than the other brands. Dr. B

I can get only one turkey season out of any boot I buy. I have not tried Chippewa boots, Danner or Irish Setter yet. I guess they will be what I buy this winter. The quality of ALL LaCrosse boots has gone way down in about the last 5-10 years. I've tried all that Rocky has too offer and they don't make it either.

Danner hands down. I've been using the same pair for 6 years. I clean them good and spray them with the silicone aerosol each year.

Now, there are about 1000 other things that did but the brown boots wasn't one of them. LOL

Definitely check for waterproofness. I have some of the BPS-branded snake boots w/ gusseted zip on the side and they're comfortable but definitely not waterproof.

I tried on a pair of Lacrosse 4x Alpha's. They are a hybrid rubber/snakeboot. They were fairly comfortable for the 150.00 price tag. I would love to own a pair of Chippewa's, but I just can't justify 300.00 on a pair of boots. I tried on one of the moccasin toe Chippewa's on at Mark's in birmingham, they are an 18" boot, I'm 5'10" and they were all the way up to the back of my knee, so much so it was a little uncomfortable. Having owned many pairs of good leather boots beforehand, I bet they are pretty comfortable once they are good and broke in.
