Sounds like operator error to me

I've read all the studies - drop away proves more accurate, but only slightly more accurate and speed loss for a WB is only 3-6 fps. So not as much advantage as some drop away guys think at first - but still an advantage. The trend that is most noticeable is a lot of people complaining about fletching coming off - it's not just me - and I didn't really mean every other shot, just trying to get a point across.

But here's the issue - torque. Nobody shoots as well in a tree. Nobody has perfect form when buck fever takes over. Hand position / pressure changes, etc. I'm not saying a drop away handles that error perfectly - it doesn't. But they will be way more forgiving with bad form.

I'm not a great shot - never have been, never claimed to be. I need all the forgiveness I can get. And there's really no debating the advantage in forgiveness with a drop away.

If you shoot Marco vanes or Blazers that are glued properly , they'll stay on going through a biscuit just fine.

I'd have to disagree with that. I shot a biscuit for about 7 or 8 years and I shoot a lot. Doesn't matter if it's a factory glue job or my fletching job, they will get torn up eventually. FYI I'm not downing a whisker biscuit, I think they are just fine for hunting.

I'd say a few hundred shots before one turns loose is good. I'm fine with that. But if one turns loose after a shot or two, it's the fletching job. Never meant to imply they'd stay glued forever. I had a old one fly off the other day through the QAD. Glue gets old , it turns loose.

I've shot both. Had a biscuit first and it did just fine!!!! Simple and nothing to break or go wrong! I now shoot a QAD HDX drop away and it works just fine too! I am worried that one day it will fail on me in the wrong moment. But it has not happened yet!

That's another common theme when searching this topic. "I had a WB, it was fine, but I now shoot a drop away". Why? They are more expensive and more complex. And if anyone likes keeping things simple, it's me. No way I would have changed without reason.

I'm guessing there's a reason, cause I know I like spending more for the same results????

Yeah - that true for sure. I'm just trying to prove my earlier point. Most stop shooting a WB for a reason. Why would you otherwise.

I have been shooting a QAD for over five years. My string broke at full draw damaging my lower limb on my bow and breaking the capture bar on the rest. I called QAD and they immediately sent me a new one in the mail at no charge. They are a quality company that stands behind their products.

I guess I've got some great glue? I clean my arrows with denatured alcohol and wipe the blazer vanes as well before they get glued. I have tore a couple of Blazers shooting through targets but they didn't come loose from the arra.

I shot a WB for years but it was tough on my fletchings.

I switched to a QAD and love it!
