Ok, tell me how to clear (unload) Knight Muzzleloader. It has been loaded for 3 years, on a clean bore (not a fouled barrel). I've heard condensation from the air in your house can cause corrosion in the bore & create problems if u try to shoot it. I thought about strapping it down to my Caldwell Lead Sled and pull the trigger with a piece of wire? But I don't want it to be one of those "hey, watch this" moments.
I'm sure somebody on here has a better suggestion. Thx in advance, Robinhedd

Un-screw the breach plug, the powder (pellets) will fall out, push the projectile out from the front of barrel. If the you find corrossion clean well. I have seen them rusted beyond ussage.

Drop the trigger set out, remove(screw out) the nipple/breech plug and use the rod to push out the bullet and powder thru the breech. If it's loaded with loose powder have it somewhere to fall out without making a mess. It will almost certainly be corroded badly.

Also if it passes inspections that far make sure you check the breach plug firing vent. You have to be able to look through it and see a clear (light) passage for it to be able to fire. If it is fouled try a paper clip, small wire of very small drill bit to clear.

I forgot to ask a couple of other questions.

Do u think it would be ok to push the sabot bullet out thru the breech, then reload that same sabot bullet?

The gun is loaded with loose Pyrodex, 110 grs.

Aim at a dirt bank and pull the trigger.

I quit hunting with mine because it was so aggravating to clean. I would just unload mine by removing the breech plug and letting the pellets fall to the floor. I took a cleaning rod and then pushed the sabot out the end of the barrel. I always threw the sabot away after I removed it from the barrel. I have left them loaded for over a year, but never as long as you have. I never have had any corrosion in my barrel. I just clean it good and go on about my business.

I can't stand a thief.

As other's have said. But try not to leave it loaded like that for that long either! I unload mine after every hunt. I have a TC Omega and it's not hard to unscrew my breach and slide the powder out and push the bullet out. After it's been shot, I clean it and make sure to put some breach plug grease on the plug to make sure it comes out easy the next time as well.

I thought about buying one so I have one question. Why would you leave it loaded anyway not just fire it after the last hunt?

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Because that is costly and no need to. I leave mine loaded the entire season then at the end of deer season I remove the breech and push the lad out and clean and put up.

I have a Knight as well. I only hunt our ML week in AL. If I don't shoot I just unload it and dry pad the barrel.

Ok, this morning I took the trigger group off the ML and unscrewed the nipple and breech plug (outside the house of course). I then tapped on the side of the barrel & all the powder fell out. I pushed the bullet out the breech, and proceeded to look thru the breech end of the bore. It was actually really clean! I think I could have cleared it by shooting, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I ran a couple of patches thru (saturated with a Lil bore solvent). Then a patch with a Lil oil on it, I'll be ready to run a dry patch thru & pop a couple caps before I load it for ML next week. Thx for the advice, Robinhedd
