I just don't understand why this area of the hunting industry has not matured more from a quality perspective. Cameras have been out long enough for all complaints to be trouble-shot and correct all the common issues like longevity. I guess if people continue to buy inferior products they have no need in improving quality.

When I decided to buy some they had went back up, so I didnt buy any. I was very disapointed that I waited to long, but planned on buying several if they ever went back down again, What didnt you like about it.

I had a bushnell 6mp that took great pictures, with quick trigger spead, but only lasted 4 months. Luckily I bought the 2 year warranty from walmart and got my money back. So now I usually buy whatevers cheap at walmart and put two year warranty on it.

They quit working after about 3 weeks.

I have had good luck with the old deercams with film, if you know where to get it developed. Digital, they are most all made in china, that's what's wrong with them. I am having decent luck with one called Scoutguard right now.

I am glad that some people are having good luck with the Browning cameras. Because myself, and several others, have found them to be junk! I bought one to try them out, great reviews. The first one came and was missing the terminals in the battery compartment. The quickly sent a replacement. I put it out on a feeder and it took decent pics. I then placed it on the leg of the shooting house taking time-lapse pics of a large food plot. After a few days, it had done ok. So, I left it about 2 weeks. It died shrtly after I left and is now laying in the junk box with some other asst electronics.

The absolute best reliability I have had with trail cameras has been with the Scoutguard/Bolyguard cameras. But, I may have just been lucky. I do know that the ones I own have been great. I had one stolen back in the Spring that was 4 yrs old and it took the best pics of any camera I have ever had.

I've been buying cameras since they used 35mm film, starting with Moultrie. I've had $175 Bushnell, $150 Primos, and $100 Moultrie cameras. None lasted more than 2-3 years. Now I only pay $60 or less. I got a WGI for $50, a refurb Moultrie for $50, a Stealth for $60, and another Stealth for $45 within the last 2 years. All are working fine with 2 of them on their 2nd season. My experience is that they will die within 3 years and I'm just not spending any more than that!

I've had the best luck with the Bushnell Trophy Cam's. I'm using 8 of them. There was one year (2010?) where they supposedly switched manufacturers, had lots of problems, and switched back. The ones I'm using now are from 2012 and 2013 and have been trouble-free.

With cameras you have to buy with a proper understanding that they're not going to last that long. I've had homebrew stuff for over 10 years. I've got about 8-9 units right now. They're good units but things happen on electrical stuff that gets left out in the weather. It is frustrating to no end at times but thats just the nature of it. The good thing is that with the home built they are fixable whether its the camera or the board or whatever.

I run 5. Most reliable is a Cuddeback Capture Flash from 2011. Doesn't have much range anymore, but she keeps right on ticking. Primos Proof Cam 2 is the best, but its only a few month old. Best pictures I've ever seen and its only 120$ on trailcampro. Primos truth cam 35 that's only a year old is a good one for the money. Only 70$. It doesn't work below 20 degrees though. I have a browning also. Not sure which, but it looks just like the strike force and the recon force, but it isn't either of them. Bought a Hunten from sportsmans guide for 40 dollars last year and it is a damn good camera for the price. Not the best pictures in the world, but it gets the job done. I had one wgi that lasted two years and was a great camera, but earlier this year something happened, and it got to where it would drain new batteries in 5 minutes. Highly recommend the Proof Cam and the Hunten if you're on a budget.

I've had good luck with Cuddeback too. Had some problems with Bushnell but, unlike Moultrie, Bushnell backs their products. Took two tries but they sent me a new replacement that worked. The last time they waived the $10 fee because I had problems with two cameras. Great customer service from Bushnell.

I ran two of the Reconyx RM 45's for 7 years each before they finally died. Went completely under water twice in floods and Reconyx repaired for freight only. Both stayed in the woods almost full time. Got two of the newer models now going on four years with no issues. Its just a matter of spending the bucks up front and expecting great service, or just knowing you're going to keep replacing cheaper ones. If you are in an area where theft is a problem, the math changes, just run the disposable ones.
