Glad you got him Matt. How far did you wind up dragging him? I'm sure you cut a road somewhere or you'd still be dragging.  We only dragged him about 200 yards. He died close to the highway.

Beautiful deer. He looks like a brute. Amazing dog work!!
Any idea of neck size, ie. diameter?
Also curious to approximate distance in straight line, of where he was shot to where he was recovered.
Was there any sign of the deer bedding anywhere after the shot?

The deer died approximately 3/4 a mile from where he was shot but just made a big semi-circle to get there. The only bed that was found was the one where Lucy first bayed him.
