Some of ya'll know I hunt with primative gear, self bows and knapped points and such. I killed my first deer with a self knapped head about 15 years ago...a doe with an obsidian point. Hit her in the hindquarter, chipped the point, and she went only 100 yards and down. I fixed the tip of the point and put it in my quiver..for the last 15 years. My grandson and I saw a nice buck on some property near me but no shot. Been several more times with no luck at seeing him. Week er so ago one evening I set out to a loc-on stand to try for that buck. Persistance paid off and at last light he appeared following a doe. I drew back the obsidian tipped arrow and sent it thru his lungs, the heavy hickory shaft penetrating to the opp shoulder, chipping the point once again. Eight or so yard shot, inside my deadly range of nine yards!!  Never said I was a good shot. Easy bloodtrail with a dead buck at the end. Harder drag, esp for an old man. LOL. Not as big as Dylan said, but a nice heavy five year old buck.  obsidian point, need to fix it and back in the quiver..  bow is a 52#, 52" G&L Evolution recurve, a GREAT shooting short bow, as good as any 60" bow I've shot. Shaft is unbreakable hickory from Troy Breeding. They will bend, this one did, but heated up and straightened they are good as new.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....
