I don't think it helped me or my boy kill our deer. What I do think is that it kept several does from getting killed by my ground checking neighbors. They'll kill anything. Never saw a deer at my feeder in the day. Every deer we saw in the day were in green fields or skirting edges probably headed for cover, brousing on the way. But they fed at the feeder all night almost every night. For those who think having a feeder going will stop deer from coming to green fields in the day, that was not so where I hunt. If I had a choice, I would rather have a few acres of standing corn, but I don't have a few acres, I have one.i planted a good Greenfield and put up a feeder 250 yards away. Every situation is different but for me and my situation it worked. Saw deer 75% of our hunts or better. Let me get this straight: You have one (1) acre. You have a greenfield and a feeder 250 yards from the greenfield. If so, that is one narrow piece of property. I'm guessing you can't turn a truck around on it with out doing a 3 point turn.
"After all, it is not the killing that brings satisfaction; it is the contest of skill and cunning. The true hunter counts his achievement in proportion to the effort involved and the fairness of the sport." Dr. Saxton Pope

Never needed it. Don't see the point. But if it's legal I have no problem with it. Just never needed it.

I like to dump it on the ground close to my heated shooting house, so when it gets dark my flashlight beam will light it up properly. What kind of flashlight are you using? I switched over to a red light, they don't seem as skiddish when you shine them.

Oh well, keep buying corn and I'll keep buying taxidermy work.

I switched over to a red light, they don't seem as skiddish when you shine them. My deer spook at red lights. They are probably used to seeing folks hit their brake lights and stick their gun out the window....My favorite time is a full moon with good German optics.. I jest...

I'm new on here but I've figured out something. Saying "corn" on aldeer is alot like saying "bomb" on a plane. Gets some folks excited. Correct. And nobody here hunts over corn illegally. In fact, all of those empty sacks we see up and down the road are just mirages. Nobody feeds corn. Nobody. Now let me run to the Co-Op

Oh it definitely changes their patterns. I have NEVER had a problem seeing multiple deer on a hunt until this year. Neighbors all around me are baiting with corn and killing the hell out of them. I can't afford to feed damn deer corn and wouldn't if I could. Just another way for the rich to stay on top. First they leased up all the land in the state and then complained because deer don't live on pine plantations and got the law changed to where they can lure them over to their property with BAIT! That's the way I see it. Poor man aint gotta chance. Yep. A man has to be supper POOR to not be able to fill up a 250 lb gravity feeder! This POOR MAN crap is riddiculus. 8 dollars a bag and 5 bags is 40 dollars right??? In a 250 lbs gravity feeder that will last quiet a while right? Year round feeding is that hard OR expensive BUT it does require some effort. I know cheap azz 500 dollar clubs that have 3 year round gravity feeders on 1400 acres. So if your not feeding it your own fault~ lol would be a lot cheaper for me to bait with corn than planting my green fields for sure .
