I personally think it is harder to do now. More people are high grading in our area, meaning they're killing the very best out of the two and three yr age classes, resulting in fewer high scoring deer. We are growing plenty of mature bucks, but they are not high scoring, because those deer get killed younger. I've seen plenty of deer that had the potential to be 150+ with another year or two, but they didn't make it.
Absolutely and I would say accurate in most of AL. This is my problem. And I'm too nice to my guests. I can't count how many bucks I've passed in the 100-110" range only to have a guest kill them later in the season. It's always someone first deer or biggest buck, and I just really have a hard time getting mad at new hunters

A 150 class ain't what it used to be, MUCH easier in Jackson Co. area now. A 150 class buck is not as big a deal as it was just 15-20 years ago around here IMO. very true. I think some areas are just now seeing the full potential while other areas have probably seen better days. All in all, things are better state wide now than they were 10,15,20 years ago regarding the opportunity to kill a 150 class or better buck.

I enjoyed that video, but what I really liked was that stand set-up. You don't necessarily have to be over 200 out, but being able to slip away after dark without spooking the field helps deer sightings tremendously. That alone is something that would help all hunters see more deer on plots, especially bucks. CD. Thanks CD. I appreciate it. I tell people back off your greenfields , youll be a lot better off. That shooting house was on a different ridge from the food plot..there is a deep valley in between actually. Dang azzhats like that clown just make people like me not even want to post anything anymore. I appreciate your kind words. Outdoorobsession..OUT.

I would not let some newbie come on here and run me off outdoor, heck I know many big deer killers and each of them are a little arrogant about it some,I myself can be arrogant when it comes to deer, and turkeys,I think you have to be some.He is just a troll, and wont be here long so I would not worry much about him!
I would rather be turkey hunting

heck I know many big deer killers and each of them are a little arrogant about it some,I myself can be arrogant when it comes to deer, and turkeys,I think you have to be some. I think everyone goes through that stage but most killers eventually progress to a point of humbleness, knowing there is always someone better and realizing they don't need to impress anyone else to enjoy hunting.

The main reason they're easier now V 20 years ago or more in Northeast Bama is simple ......there's more of them. Years ago when we had a young expanding herd and it was a buck a day ,they were shot well before they could reach maturity.
