coach some of us would, I've had buckless seasons because I take no pride in killing a dumb young buck. i don't need a pickup full of sawed off basket racks !

Over the years I have killed smaller bucks. But as I grew into an adult and a better steward of the land, I realized that the smaller bucks needed to walk. That's when I started seeing and being able to harvest mature deer. It's a personal choice for me. I personally like the challenge of mature deer. But it's just me.
I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

I don't need to kill a buck every season to be happy, just the chance to hunt a good deer. We do eat a LOT of venison so I need meat, donated does just fine by me as I have no desire to kill does.
I'm scared there is going to be a deer standing alongside St Peter at the Pearly Gates and will be pointing at me and whispering to St Peter as I approach. If so I'll just turn around and head south...LOL
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Can anybody confirm what geographic area the non-native Alabama whitetails came from?
The vast majority came from swamp deer north of Mobile. A few spots got deer from North Carolina, Texas, and Michigan, but just about anywhere in Alabama with a late January rut has deer that came from the delta swamps. They are basically Florida panhandle deer genetically.
