Was reading the "Hunting on Sunday" post and was just wondering, how many of the Aldeer brethren are in full time ministry? Where did you guys go to seminary, if you went? I'm currently a full time youth minister, graduate with my undergrad from Liberty in 7 weeks, and am looking at going on to get my m.div in apologetics. Just curious!

I'm not, but am the SS director, deacon and etc., etc.. I am glad you are devoting your life for the cause of Christ.

Some of my biggest mentors are people that are not full time ministers, but are definitely in the business of full time ministry, if you know what I mean. I also realize I posted this when everyone would be working or at church, I don't teach a class this hour ha.

I had to retire from full time ministry in November due to health issues. I pastored for almost 27 years; the first 12 I was bivocational. I got my MDiv from NOBTS.

May the Lord bless you in your work and life!

I thought we were gonna have a deacon lynching in our church this morning. Seems as though the "deacon for the week" forgot to go turn the heat on last night.

I sure was glad I came up with some quick wit to save that guy (me) from being lynched. laugh

I think every Christian is in ministry. I'm licensed and ordained but I don't hold a paying ministry position. That distinction doesn't make me or my calling any different. It was done several years ago so that I could get into some jails to minister where it was a requirement.

I'm a full time Youth Minister. I use the name Work2Hunt to remind myself that we are always hunting for the next One that Christ has called us to influence!

This past weekend I went hunting with a group of college guys I have mentored over the years. I have a Great Job!

Bless you guys who are called into full time ministry. I am a layman, ordained deacon, and SS teacher. Served as an elder in a recent church plant when FBC Watkinsville outgrew its facility. My wife worked 15 years as church secretary. I learned so much about the heart of a humble servant by watching her.

Taking classes to be a recovery coach. Want to do what I can to help some folks get off drugs and alcohol and try to help lead them to the Lord. Helping others find "life more abundantly" is my calling.

I'm licensed to preach as a lay minister. I also run the sound and recording/CD ministry. I would love to go back to school for it, but 70 hour work weeks don't allow.

I'm a deacon at our church and co-teach SS for our 9th-10th grade boys. I agree with R_H_Clark in we all are called to be ministers, and use whatever gifts/strengths the good Lord has given us to glorify His name and lead others to Him.

Thank each of you for your service!

May the Lord continue to Bless each of you as you follow the plans He has already prepared in advance for you to do!!

God Bless,
David B.

I taught a Christ centered 12 step class, and really liked this material.

Also used the Recovery Devotional Bible.

Ordained Deacon, teach an adult Sunday School class (30's-40's) and 3rd grade RA's on Wednesday night. I have taught 1st grade boys Sunday School in the past as well as a few other RA age groups other than the one I teach now.

I was a bivocational youth pastor for 10 years, then felt led to go into nursing after my sons bone marrow transplant. I just recently began a men's ministry at my church. If your a pastor, God bless you, your wife, and your children. Pastors have a hard job trying to be everywhere at once.
