Well, with only two days left, I'm at camp in Barbour County getting ready to head out early into this gusty west wind. Going to a stand where I've never seen a deer but where members have trail cam pictures of a couple of shooters and a pile of does. I'll settle for a plump old doe this late in the season. I'm headed to what I call the exodus stand. Its an area where just about every deer on the whole property travels through when they leave or enter the property. Good luck to all this morning.

Going this afternoon. I didn't go this morning because I read that the wind would be howling. Not blowing to hard so I should have went. Well maybe you'll get a bigun.

I hope that whoever's out hunting today has some success. I reckon I'm going to have a plan in the future for some southern zone hunting if I don't tag out next year by 1/31.

Member killed another good eight this morning

Back at it in Barbour County. The stand I'm in had a nice 8 point sighted this morning, but he crossed a long narrow strip too quickly to offer a shot to my friend Ted. Ted can't hunt this afternoon, so he suggested I sit from 3:00 PM to dark, which I'll do. Let's hope the nice 8 makes a return visit, or some other shooter appears. Heck, I'll take a mature doe or even a coyote.

In the corner of a pasture looking down a lane about 200 yards back into the woods...my neighbor killed a 10pt this afternoon checking a small plot for doe.
