Those were always my favorite shows as a kid. They've got several of the full episodes on youtube. Here's one with Archie and gene Stallings crappie fishing https://youtu.be/TARHLi6B3vo

We watched Archie Phillips when I was a kid, and would always look for the building on 20/59 with his sign painted on it when we went to Bessemer to visit my great aunt and uncle.

Archie is not dead. He's still alive, hunting and fishing and enjoying his family

I want to say he is still alive. Running the taxidermy place still I think. I could be wrong

What are the odds he might be there if you just stopped by. I'd like to shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed his shows

He's alive and well. Been rabbit and quail hunting with him the past couple of weekends.

I see Bubba all the time. Don't get Bubba talking about outdoors stuff unless you got some time to kill.

Yes, Archie Phillips is alive and doing reasonably well. He lives in Pleasant Grove, same place I grew up. I talked with him just the other day. I used to cut his grass at his house when I was a lad of 10 years old and also worked at his taxidermy shop during the summer when I was 12. I have a dvd video of a 2 day gulf fishing trip that we went on back in the 90's. We caught a boatload ( pun intended) of red snapper and other fish. What a great time that was!!! If anyone has any of his tapes of his shows that were put out on VCR, that fishing trip was labeled "Snapper Jubilee." I also was on his channel 42 tv show when I was about 6 or 7 if I remember the age correctly, of me and an injured flying squirrel that I had a a pet that I carried around in my front shirt pocket. Ive been meaning to go up to the Channel 42 tv station and go thru their archives and get a copy of that show but just never have done it. I need to do that one day before I die

I liked his shows. Red Holland and his tater chip bream was my favorite.
