WE caught em yesterday at Tims Ford fishing boat dock with lots of cover fishing as close to and under pontoons and jest ski ramps. They were unbelievably tight to the cover. Move no more than a foot to either side and not get a bite. had to put it directly in front of them.

Crappie are the easiest fish to find with a depth finder in my opinion. They are often stacked to look like a column suspended in the water. If you can't find any around structure in the creek channels, then move shallow. I've had days where I was striking out fishing tree tops in 6-10' of water where I thought they should have been. I moved on up and found them right on the banks in 1-2' of water. I wouldn't think they're that shallow just yet so I would start deep and move shallow.

Latest tip from a buddy who crappie fishes all of the time. Longline trolling with "Crappie Carrots." Said you could get them at a Sykes or Sikes bait company. (I don't know who they are, or where they are located)
