If you are going to the one on 280, order about 12 beers right when you get there and start drinking them so you won't be so mad when they bring you the wrong order, you also won't have to suffer having nothing to drink for 30 minutes at a time. I will never grace the doors of that chitbox again. The straw that broke the camels back was I wanted to go there for my birthday and we called to reserve a table and they said they don't take reservations. Ok, my wife and I show up about 5 minutes before anyone else and there is literally 10 other people eating in the whole damn place. I said, we need a table for 10. Hostess said, you will have to wait till they all get here to get a table. I said I could understand if it was Friday night and the place was packed but there is literally no one in here. I explained that we had 2 people over 80 years of age and one that was 75 and that it wasn't really in their best interest to have to sit in the lobby and then get up and go sit at the table when we could already have a table and they could walk straight in the door to it. I finally just went and made a table and they got over it. I have eaten at the fish market my whole life and the best I ever remember it is the original one in Birmingham, not where it is now but the smaller building right beside it.
Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

The one in downtown is quite good and relatively inexpensive. I've eaten there probably 100+ times, had about half of the menu and have yet to run across a bad dish or poor service.

Everything I eat there makes me sick. Even the baked or grilled fish seems to have some Greek oil crap soaked into it and it will have me running to the shitter. I have never understood why people like it. No chit. It don't matter what location you go they all give you the chits. Don't be surprised if you order snapper and you get tilapia. Hands down worst seafood!

I like the one downtown. We always sit at the bar and get raw oysters first and a beer or two. I like the Greek salad and I like the Tuna kabobs. Their crab cakes are good too. I must be used to all the olive oil. We love to cook and use a lot of olive oil, along with safflower oil and butter... If you find some margarine at our house, then someone left it there by mistake.

I'm not a big seafood guy, but I've never had a meal there I didn't like.
Those who it makes sick, ya'll might have an allergy or something. Never once had bad food there, or a bad reaction to it.
Now Loyds on 280, I can't finish the meal without the trots.

There are better places to eat in B'ham, but for the money the place is at the top of the list. Not everyone has to like it. Average dinner price is around $13-15 and a lot of food for that kinda money. That's why it is packed every night. Niki's West is open for dinner as well.
I don't know if you guys have started to realize this but you can easily drop $10 at McDonalds these days. Food is getting real high.

The original fish market was the best. It just doesnt taste the same as it did at the original location. When I go i get the seafood platter with the greek rice.
