I hate them! Fill me in on what works!

I have 1100 square feet of patio and they creep in the house with diligence!

To answer your next question, yes I'm showered and my pants are on.

Theres a conoco gas station in town that tapes a clear plastic ziploc bag of water on the door. I guess it works?

There's something like that you can buy that you add water to. It has something in there that appeals to the flies like it's spoiled food and it traps them in the bag. - it works ok I just don't like the look of it

I always thought that the clear plastic bag with water in it and a penny scared away the flies, because they thought it was a hornet's nest.

Did you just consider taking a shower? grin

I have used Ziplocs with water in them for probably 20-25 years and it works.I don't know why but it works.I have been told that they see their reflection in the bag and it is huge and that's what scares them away.I don't care what the reason s as long as it works.

Its not a trap. It's just a bag of water that they said wards off the fly's. I don't know.

Traxtor supply has some fly catching containers that you add bait to. They are cheap and work really well

We have a trap like hunt big is talking about... They sell em at lowes and Walmart! We keep 2 of em up yer around, changing them out ever so often... You don't want to hang em on your porch bc they are disgusting... But can be on a tree close by or just down wind... They look like a bag you pull a plastic piece out of and fill up halfway with water, there's some sort of chemical that draws them inside and kills them once trapped inside and draws more

I buy traps at the co op to hang up around the shop. They definitely work but they smell like death. Hang one away from your house.

The trap that Possum Hunter posted is the exact same one I use. The longer it hangs there, the worse it smells, the more dead flies it gets in it, and the better it works.

You can also use Golden Malerin fly bait. Put it on a white paper plate. It will melt when it gets too hot. DONT let anything else eat it. Flies will eat it and die in less than a minute.

Those work great, Just put them well away from the house. Somewhere int he shade is best so the water inside doesnt evaporate so quickly.

This stuff works but definitely keep away from pets, etc.

Plastic bag with a penny in it. We hung it over our doors, and it eliminated the flies getting into our house.
