I've posted this all before.
This is the time of year to be gathering up truckloads of those 18" x 24" campaign signs for your shooting houses.
The sign material makes GREAT waterproof shingles for you roof and walls. You can shingle inside and out and fill with insulation between walls. Use and waste all you want; this is the only damn thing you'll ever get from a politician, and how many times have you ever seen a campaign come back to remove them after an election?
I use 3M #5200 or #5300 Adhesive and 1 inch plastic head nails, then just enough black, gray, or green matte spray paint to knock the gloss down. 2"x 2" treated pine frames screwed together work well enough and one man can handle them. They WILL need to be anchored to the ground, though.
It doesn't take long to accumulate a couple or three hundred in a couple of outings.
The wire frames with the shingle left in it makes great target holders for the range.
I generally don't run into any trouble removing those signs from public right of ways such as county and state property, because they are illegal to place in those areas down here. I frequently get tooted at and thumbs up from motorists, because I'm removing litter without regard to the party affiliation.
Check your local laws first. Don't remove them from private property, either.

I like that. Is it too soon to start the gathering!! It's never too soon to remove litter from our beautiful outdoors.
