We've had our Rooms to Go couch and love seat for 9 years. It's now broken beyond repair and needs to be replaced, however it's been good while its lasted. I feel like we've been to every furniture store in north and central Alabama. We've searched online as well. We picked out a reclining sectional form RTG, but are now hesitating because of the horrible reviews regarding fixing issues that come up, not honoring their warranty, delivery problems, etc. We've been to the Ashley store twice and their brand of salesmanship makes my skin crawl. Feeding frenzy at the door and dead fish handshakes. I shudder. Plus online reviews on their stuff sucks as well.

So, where do you all shop for furniture? Pros and cons?

HAPPY FOURTH!!

We bought our living room furniture from Akins Furniture and I was happy with the service.

I just bought a recliner at Big Lots. So far so good. They got a lot of furniture. Great prices. We will see how long it lasts.

Estate sales and Craigslist for a lot of it. I did buy a high end dining table and chairs online; took 8 weeks to deliver but saved $2k.

I make a lot of ours. The best couch we have is an expensive one this lady offered to me for a $1000 when I was working on her house. The more Evan Williams she drank the cheaper it got until she said take it for the material you have in the job, which was 3 single pole switches, a cover plate and a few wire nuts.

These are good folks from my experience. Or if you're in North Alabama, go to Dogtown.

I almost bought a couch from rooms to go until I told them to load it up and they explained they don't keep anything in stock and it would take about 10 days and a bunch of other charges to get it delivered. Went to costco and bought one that looks better and was cheaper and they loaded it up on the spot. Been a good couch but it's only a year old.

I bought a natuzzi Italian leather sofa loveseat and a matching recliner at mattress plus in Hartselle. Paid $750.00. From whhat I could find on the internet this set sold at Macy's for about $4000.00. Had it a year, it still looks new. You might call him and see what he has in stock. He sells high end returns. The stuff we bought was in perfect condition. He said a lady bought it, didn't like it, and returned it to Macy's. Our lucky day, I guess. I had told my wife we couldn't afford leather. Went up there to look at another set he had, sat on this on and really liked it.
