The key pad has two slots where it rest on two screws. Easier if u need to change the battery. Now my other safe has a removable key pad That has a plug, this one does not....

If I get it open do I get a suprise from inside?

You need a Liberty safe , have one with tumblers for last 30 years , no problems. I need another safe don't want electronic.

I was just talking to a guy yesterday whose keypad went out. He replaced with dial.

Hope you can get in it... this is one of many reasons why I won't ever own an electronic one.

I have some connectors that are for phone lines. You stick 2 (or up to 3) wires inside and squeeze them with pliers and it makes a connection. There is a silicone like crap inside them to keep them from corroding. They are red and clear plastic.

If that will work for you PM me and I will mail you some. They might be available a Lowes, but I have not seem them in a long time. I have had these for about 10 years...

I thought about the same thing but its going to depend on what size wire it is. Some electrical supply houses carry them too. UR or UY connectors

It's very simple really. The keypad rests ( 2 slots on the back plate) on 2 screws, all you have to do is push up on the keypad and it will come off.

Don't think I want one of those safes.

My Cannon safe keypad quit working about a year ago. It would take 7 or 8 tries to finally get the safe to open. I sent several emails through cannons "contact us" and never got a response. I sent 1 email to hoffacsexperience@cannonsafe.com. That is the president of cannon safe email. I explained in detail how I could not get my guns out of my safe and I would never buy another product from their company. I also explained how terrible their customer service was. After I hit send on the email I walked two blocks to Subway for lunch and by the time I came back I had received an email and 2 phone calls from someone who evidently is supposed to respond to said "contact us" emails. They sent me a new updated keypad free of charge, no questions asked.

Signal26 hit the magic combo. When you can't get satisfaction or assistance from the lower level, go higher. IMO it's best to go as high as possible immediately instead of fiddle-farting around with middle management. Find the company president and VPs, send them the complaint(s) and wait.

Did that about 10 years ago with Filson after being told by customer service that they couldn't help me with a problem with a computer bag that smelled like ass. When I said "Your company says its products are guaranteed for life" the guy basically shrugged. The company president got my stanky computer bag and a letter in a box that said their guarantee apparently didn't mean squat, the customer service guy wasn't helpful, and if he couldn't abide by their guarantee then to throw the bag in the garbage.

Had a new computer bag within a week.
