No burn means NO BURNING ! My wife is in the volunteer fire dept here in our community, her brother use to be the chief. Lots of good folks with families and lives/work etc. For the past 2 mornings she has gotten up before daylight to go fight fires. Both set by who knows who, probably not same people. Both fires threatened crops not harvested and homes. To top that off this morning a young man was bitten on the wrist by a snake, and one was injured stepping in a hole.Last week it was same story but in neighboring communities that asked for assistance.Folks we are super dry in NE Alabama ! Please don't do any burning!

Probably cigarettes thrown out a car window, by someone who thinks the world is their ashtray.

Every fire department is the same. Doesn't take much right now to get a blaze going or for it to get out of hand.

This one today was in a block of woods, away from the road and there
were random hot spots. Like someone walking through and setting it.

Burn bans in place but yet a Tuscaloosa County Middle School had a bonfire last night.

Only takes one hot ember to start a major fire !

My buddy work for the U.S Forest Service out of Talledega. He told me this morning they're fighting 9 different fires right now inside the National Forest. They've had to bring in helicopters and all. One of those fires has covered 180 acres and was started by some campers that didn't extinguish their camp fire.

Is there not fire breaks in talladega NF? Why not just let it run its course

I'm not familiar with this NF but this is going to be a "hot" fire. BAD JU-JU!! This will kill big trees and needs to be put out ASAP. Controlled burns in pines are "cool" fires.

I was at some forestry meeting a while back and the forester said more of these fires are started by vehicles than cigarettes.

Got home a minute ago and my neighbor has his fire pit rolling high. I looked at him and shook my head. For one its 85 degrees right now and two one ember and our houses are up shitcreek. I hope for his sake it stays tame.

Fire breaks are good most of the time. The way it is right now it will jump it and have a good one started easily.

Someone has been burning down between the ghetto and my work for two days, best I can tell there's hasn't been a soul to stay with it. It jumped the fence yesterday onto our side. Stupid idiots

It's dang sure been dry, I'm surprised there isn't a no burn in my area yet. Here's a couple pics of my hot spot yesterday.

I spent 4 days last week repairing a fiber optic cable that got burned when a fire in a clear cut got out to the road. Fire was on saturday, it was still smoldering friday morning when I left. Got to go back next week and make the final repairs on it. When all is said and done, somebodys carelessness is going to cost about 20-22 grand.

Skinnerton Outlaw, from the looks in those pictures that was a dang good logging job and great site prep. Now, hypothetically of course, a fellow let it rain a time or 2 to settle the ashes. Then he took a tractor with a spreader and about a ton of wheat. Broadcast it over say about 10 acres. Then goes back about 2 weeks later with several friends and a lot of dove shells. I think you know where I'm headed with this...
