Seen 5 spikes trailing does in the last week (Jackson Co) Reports of several bigger bucks trailing them also in the last few days Rubs and scrapes everywhere I watched an 8 point rub a tree the other day
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

Seen young bucks chasing this past weekend. Also saw a good buck sticking real close to one doe in particular but just following her around feeding. Y'all ever notice if young bucks get to chasing before the older guys do?

2 yr old buck chasing a doe last night in Madison Co. Saw a bigger buck with his nose to the ground checking trails along the edge of a field also. Should see the mature bucks chasing within a week.
I bought an ATV to get to my hunting area, now half the fun of hunting is the ride in and out.

Find the scrapes and rub lines and see if they are started, attended or left alone. This will give you a more narrowed approach on what the older fellas are doing.
If they are doing one they don't do the other so to speak. Learn their habits like clock work and you'll save a lot of wasted hunt time and split it up as scouting and hunting and be a bad man out there against them.
The youngsters are like teenage boys chasing anything with a slit. Disregard them and concentrate on the older fellas. If you see a scrape that's active, take a leak on it. Works great if not better, than any of those "buy this" T.V. ad gimmicks.

Seeing that late post lock down buck movement in lauderdale. Probably really taper off next few days.

Neighbor shot a 2 YO buck dogging a Doe this afternoon in Walker County. He missed twice cause he couldn't get him to stop. Where in Walker County? I am still seeing bachelor groups in the NW corner near the county line. Very little scrape/rub activity. None of this is surprising considering the jacked up ADCNR herd supplementation program. But still gotta ask.
If there's any doubt, then there is no doubt... The gut don't never lie.

Scottsboro seems to be wide open from what I've been told scottsboro aint wide open lol. The rut is not till the first week of January here. You must be talking to some spike killers that don't know better. May be a few young bucks cruising but that's all. Older bucks will be on their feet at Christmas

Big mature pie bald killed at B.B. Comer yesterday , big 10 killed my Mogo's , talked to several that said deer were running doe's all day yesterday . I tend to agree with you . Harbin hasn't been showing much on their big buck contest piebald killed at BB. comer? Get hit by a car or something? And the majority of that around mojos is state refuge land. No deer hunting there, unless you're talking about Terry Gibsons place, or Daniel johnsons place.
