On the Remington 700 sps tactical with the Houge stock is it really worth the money to swap out stocks. Gun isn't for shooting 1,000 or shooting in competitions only for hunting. If you think it's worth it what's stocks do you recommend

factory stock is good if you're not shooting long distance. I shoot tight groups out to 300 yards with factory stock.

I have factory 700 sps tactical in .308 with leupold vx3i 4.5-14x40mm. ammo is the hornady sst 165 gr so nothing special, just over the counter.

You should be fine. The Hogue stock isnt the one most complain about, thats the plain plastic SPS stock. I like the one on my AAC.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

If you are just Hunting with it and not trying to get all the accuracy you can out of it the hogue factory stock is fine. I would recommend you take the stock off and sand off all the burrs and spots that are touching the barrel. It is supposed to be free floated from the factory but both of mine that I had had spots touching the barrel.

Nothing wrong with some Remington stocks. Put it on a lead sled and see what it is capable of before spending anymore money.

Factory hogue will definitely be touching around the bipod attachment point. If you ever plan to ever screw on a bipod/bench shooting, I highly recommend replacing the stock.
For freehand shooting and hunting the factory set up shoots fine, less than a minute accuracy out of the box with factory CoreLok ammo.
