I always use a climber, like 99/100 times, so I just can't use a backpack (unless perhaps I stuffed it in my climber). I've long been using a bag with a shoulder strap around my neck, but honestly it's getting too heavy and it's sorta worn out too. Been shopping for a new pack, and I'm wondering two things:

1. Do any of you wear a backpack on the front???

2. Those fanny pack style with the detachable shoulder harness, can you wear those on the front???

As you see, I REALLY want something on the front, but I like the bigger size of most backpack / shoulder harness bags. I've looked at the Tenzing 930 for example. Cabelas has a heckuva deal on a Tenzing 1200 right now.

This is what I really want, but I want to wear it with that shoulder harness on my chest

I always strapped the fanny pack to my climber and used a bungee to secure it so it didn't shift the weight balance.

I have a camo mossy oak fanny pack and I love it. I use it every time I carry my climber.

I would really like for somebody to say they wear one of those shoulder thingys facing forward....I'm tempted to try it, but I hate to spend $100 and wait for it to come in just to have to return it. Amazon has this 930 Tenzing for $98 (normally like $140/$150)

I've always used a backpack and carry my climber with my left hand. Sounds stupid but I've been doing it for years. I wouldn't know how to act if my climber had back pack straps.

I've flipped from turkey vest to fanny pack to backpack. I like none of em. I'm going back to the vest. I just need room for knife, saw, snack, water. I got a nice fieldline fanny pack with backpack straps I'll sell for $20.

Not sure how far you have to walk to stands but, it's gonna make you heat up more wearing a pack on you chest. I'm sure if a bino harness does, the pack will for sure.

I loosen my straps on my backpack all the way and do the same thing. It works and it's simple.

go to wal mart buy 2 single strap carry bags in hunting section (about $10), take off the shoulder strap and zip tie bags on each side of the top portion of your climber. works great and everything is easily accessible.
best solution I've found..

If I'm packing in clothes.. just roll them up and bungie to climber..

You can't kill em from the couch

Just get the tenzing 1200 at cabelas for $69 and steal it to your climber or wear it on your chest. For $69 it's cheaper than that 930 and more room
