Spike with a 257. 2 weeks after season was over. But being 10 yo I didn't know about the out of season till later in life.

.257 Roberts. Marengo co. 1990 had 120 deer in the field and I shot a doe at 180 yards. Killed my 2nd the next day which was a spike.

Savage .270 I borrowed from a friend's dad. About a 115" 10 pt. I was 18, 10 years ago. Was only hunting to have something to do when I came home from college for Christmas break. I had went for the first time ever with my best friend a few weeks earlier during thanksgiving break. I sat under the tree that first time that he was up in his climber. He whispered down "deer" and killed a 4 pt. Fast forward 3 weeks later and he had taught me to use his climber. I went to pick him up early that morning and he wouldn't wake up. So I got in his climber in that spot. About 7 a small buck came out into the field and the 10 pt came out to chase it off. DRT about 75 yards out. I was gotdang Michael Waddell in Abbeville for a few weeks with my friends. Addicted ever since. Took 7 more years to kill another nice one, now have killed 6 more good ones in the last 3 years including the monster in my avatar. I remember my neighbor telling me to mount that 10 pt because I'd never kill a bigger one down here.

Winchester 30/30, shot a spike as it crossed a road into a thicket I was on the edge of. Later that day I killed a 6pt on a power line with the same 30/30 at about 150yds iron sights. Dogs had run him out in to the power line. Statue of limitations has run out on the two bucks in one day lol. That was in the early 80's. God only knows how many I missed before then.

I was 15 and shot a 3 point with a Marlin 30/30. This was back when we had 1-2 doe days for the season. I shot it with iron sights and never knew it was a buck until it crashed. Looked like an elk laid up there in that slough.

With my grand-dad using his .270 at 10 yo. I squatted down on a hill and leaned agin a tree and aimed at a spike. Pulled the trigger, and it rolled me down the hill. On my back, I looked at GP and asked "did I get him"? He was laughing and said yep!.

5pt. Remington .243 bolt action, wilcox county sitting in a wooden platform built in the forks of a oak tree about a 40 yard shot.

Back in the 70's, I was 17 years old, hunting at a dog club in Randolph county. I went to sleep and was awakened by the leaves crunching of deer running in my direction. As I sat up, I saw 4 does coming, and right behind them a buck. I got my Remington 1100 3" 12 gauge up and pointed at the opening he was going to pass thru about 25 yards away. When he trotted in that opening, I fired 4 shots so fast you could hardly count. Turned him a flip, DRT. A five point. Not a trophy size wise, but I treasure to me for sure. I had been hunting for 4 or 5 years and finally had success.

December 26, 1983. An old Marlin 30-30 with iron sights given to me by the father of the girl I was dating in high school. Back then doe days opened the day after Christmas so I was hoping to kill a doe. I got a ladder stand for Christmas so I took it up to a place in Elmore county close to Real Island and set it up. I climbed up and in about an hour later I see a deer to my right.

I turned myself around and hung my legs off the side of the stand so I could shoot the deer with my right shoulder. When I moved, the deer saw me and looked at me and that's when I saw he had about 4 inch spikes. Just as I pulled the trigger, he started to move and I hit him back. He ran behind the stand and I spun around and was working that lever like Chuck Conners shooting as he went away!

He passes me and I empty the gun at him. I see him lay down about 80 yards away right in front of me but his head is up. He keeps looking around and all I can see his back and his head. After about 5 minutes I decided to take a last shot. I aimed and fired and he was done.

He probably didn't weigh 100 lbs. I field dressed him (1st time) I saw I hit him 3 times. I drug him to the road and I got my brother to help me load him in the hatch back of my 1980 Honda Civic and headed back home! I was so proud!!

Remington 870 with 00 Buckshot little doe walked out behind me walking out for the day right at dark. She wasnt the biggest but at 16 I could have cared less!

A single shot break down 30/30. Shot it at about 100yds across a clear cut. Only problem was I shot the wrong deer. Several came out. When I seen fur in the scope I shot. Needless to say I didn't need any help getting it onto the 4wheeler. But I got my 1st deer that day.

Yugo SKS 7.62x39. I was 15 and my uncle handed me this battle rifle with a 30 round mag and said "If you see a deer, shoot it. If you see hogs, shoot as many as you can and get into a tree. We'll pick you up at 5." I have never been so scared in my life. Got a spike thinking it was a doe.

Little buck with my dads browning abolt 7mag that i snuck out of the safe one morning because i missed so much with my 30 30 and he dropped everything with the 7 mag. I ended up killing alot more deer with both guns over the years

Would have been late 80's. Remington 760 30.06. Neighboring clubs dogs had ran all morning around me and dad. Watching a big bottom with a pretty good Creek in it. This 4 point was trying to lose the dogs walking right down the middle of the creek. He never left the creek until I pulled him up on bank.
