A story about maybe bringing back the Ford Bronco in 2020 with a SOLID axle. Like most of these automobile-of-the-future stories, it probably won't happen. You can usually only bet on stories like this if it's going to be built for the very next model year. It would be nice, though: http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/trucks/a24887/2020-ford-bronco-solid-axles/Here's another tough looking concept, although this truck will come with a V-6 diesel plus it's a midsize: http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/a23549/mercedes-benz-truck-concept/I bet you won't get in either of these for less than 80K, though, if they were selling them today. The Benz is already past the concept stage for overseas markets, I saw in another article: http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2016/10/25/mercedes-benz-x-class-pickup-truck/92732588/Yes, both of them need a leveling kit.

That would be good. Ford shot themselves in the marketing foot on numerous occasions, including the Crown Vic.

Those rumors have been circulating for a while. They've been "bringing back the Bronco" for several years now. Surprisingly enough it never seems to happen.

Those rumors have been circulating for a while. They've been "bringing back the Bronco" for several years now. Surprisingly enough it never seems to happen. Yep, but this is a real tease about a solid front axle. These future model come-on stories have been the major car magazines bread and butter for decades.

I think it's happening, says a Ford dealer buddy
Ranger coming back too Yep. Spy photos and everything. I think Ford is really going to go after the Wrangler buyers with the new Bronco. Wonder what the prices are going to be. The big problem with the outgoing Ranger like I have is that they were smaller and got no better fuel economy than the full sized F150's, but they were cheaper, because they were such an old design and Ford had already amortized the tooling over the years, therefore they were pirating sales from the much more profitable F150. So Ford in a wise financial move canceled the Ranger in the U.S. They never quit making it overseas and for most overseas markets, it's the only Ford truck they get. You can get it with a neat diesel motor in places like Europe and Australia. Hopefully we can get a diesel version here. If Ford's strategy is consistent with making global platforms, the new Ranger/Bronco will be the same platform worldwide, like the new Mustang.

The Bronco and the K5 have both been coming back for years and years.

icon trucks (jonathan ward) sort of romanticized the bronco when he started customizing them about 10 years ago and bring them to trade shows. His stuff was outrageously expensive but gorgeous. I think Ford realized there was a huge untapped market. I'd certainly be interested in the re-invention of it. http://www.icon4x4.com/br
