I've had 5 Remington 700 rifles ive had adl and the bdl models all but one were older models. 25-06 and 30/06 was what they were chambered in. I never could like them or get comfortable shooting them. I prefer savage 110/10,114/14,116/16 models. The Remingtons all needed trigger work to to fit my preference. And I didnt want to mess with the triggers since theu were orignal guns. If buying new I'd buy a savage model listed above or a tikka both guns will shoot great. You got any of those Remington M700s still lying around?

If i remember right its a bdl chambered in 30/06 i want to say he told me he bought it new on the 80s swapped it to a synthetic stock sonhe wouldnt scratch the wood stock in the woods. I dont remember what he was asking for it

Where are those Steyr Rifles made? Steyr's US Headquarters and manufacturing plant is in Bessemer. I'm assuming the Pro Hunter is made there. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. The 2 I have are stamped Trussvile, AL Are they assembled there or is Trussville just the importer? I thought they were Austrian made. I read that the Steyr AUG/A3 M1 was being produced in Bessemer. Couldnt find anything about any other guns. The AUG rifles are just assembled there from imported parts. Bolt actions are imported. Bessemer facility is just the licensed importer for the rifles. I went to the facility when it was in Trussville and they couldn't assemble the AUG's fast enough to meet the demand.
