Need a forester in Fayette County to spray ~9 acres for hardwood replant this winter. Had one lined up and now he won't answer my calls/texts/emails. I'm late ordering trees due to uncertainty on getting the regeneration killed. Please PM me if you know a reputable source. Thanks!

9 acres? Spray it by hand, atv, or tractor. No one is going to fly over 9 acres unless they are next door.

My previous agreement was for this guy's crew of about 8-10 guys to come spray it with backpack sprayers. That's the option I'm looking for.

I should have been more clear up front. This 9 acres was natural generation mixed sweet gum, water oak, with some loblolly pine on the highest spot that grew up, when row cropping stopped on that field about 60 years ago. Timber was clearcut late last summer. It has a huge amount of stumps and trash. No ground machinery could safely and efficiently be utilized. Not to mention it's on the bank of the river.

If it is on a river bank it probably won't be the best pine ground.

I have an atv boom sprayer and a 60 gallon boom sprayer for my tractor. I wouldn't risk either piece of equipment for what I was quoted getting it done for.

It's gonna be four types of oaks: swamp white, shumard, cherry bark and nutall.

Could you not do a site prep burn?

I don't have sufficient breaks on all four sides.

Honestly it's going to be hard to get someone to come out and spray 9 acres.

If you had a way to push breaks that would be the best method. You mentioned a lot of stumps and slash from the prior cut. Fire should take care of both.

You said it borders water so you wouldn't worry about that. Light it on the side opposite of the water and let it eat.

Spraying isn't going to take care of the logging slash and stumps. Not to mention it's not going to provide a good planting bed.
