Spent yesterday in Tennessee getting things set up for the upcoming season. We got ate up with ticks the tiny ticks. Spent 30 minutes even after a long shower removing them little bastards. I have been reading and doing some research. It looks like sawyers has a product line for repelling ticks. Anyone have experience with their products or any other products to keep the ticks off of you?

I have never really had a problem with them before like what I dealt with yesterday and today. Been in the woods a lot and the occasional tick or two is normal but my legs look like I have chicken pox and driving me insane.

Soak yer clothes in a permethrin solution and spray it concentrated on leg openings, sleeves, neck, waist, etc. let dry overnight before dressing

Spray down real good with DEET right before going in woods and refresh every couple hours. Bout as good as you can do, and like Skinny said tight openings to the skin help

Welcome to TN smile

I've had them little suckers by the thousands on my pants, looked like my whole leg was moving. I know of a couple fellers that got them "embedded" in their low hanging fruit and it took a doctors visit to get them out.

I don't know what the hell it is, but I can drive 35 miles north of me to the farm in Lynchburg, and get covered in damn ticks, especially during turkey season. I don't understand why that damn state has so many of them.

Yep, haven't planted up there yet and NOT gotten either tore up with ticks or chiggers. This year was mild though, just a dozen or so chigger bites and 4 ticks.

The sawyer permethrin is good stuff, any permethrin for that matter. Spray your clothes ahead of time and let it dry. Tuck in your shirt and pant legs into your boots. The bites will itch for a week, and the seed ticks bite you almost as soon as they find skin. The Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky is the worst place I have ever been in seed ticks. Worked up there for a week last fall, and killed thousands of the little suckers

Theres one area on the land I hunt that has those evil little things. The bite itches like crazy and lasts for days too.

Fire is the best way to reduce tick numbers. I watched a Dr. Grant Woods show about it. Permethrin is definitely the way to go.

TN got their state motto from having so many ticks....."Tennessee Sucks"

Yes, the line of Spray Sawyer has works I use it in TN and never get ticks or chiggers. I have forgotten to spray down several times and gets ticks every time. Just make sure to only spray on your clothes.

I keep a bottle of Lice Shampoo on hand since I got covered up several years ago, kills the little bastages on contact. I got into a nest of them back in August, went straight home, jumped in the shower with my lice shampoo, and was good to go.

I ordered two bottles of sawyers spray and my buddy got a quart of the concentrate. We are going to spray the everything with it and all our gear. Hopefully it will help. I normally tuck my pants inside my boots but didn't do that this weekend but I won't make that mistake again.
