. Use the 2 rachet straps and it does the same thing. Not really. The way the X-stands are set up theres no way for a squirrel to ever eat up your ratchet straps because they attach at the ladder instead of around the tree. They really arent any more expensive either. The onyx ones are plenty big and can be found for around $150 if you catch em on sale.

X stand, lookout or general, the Jaw Lock system makes it safe and stable to climb and put up alone (1 man job) and the seats are almost Millenium quality. Lookout is 17ft and around 135 dollars, general is 21 ft and around 180 dollars

The one I'd prefer is millieniun or maybe even a family traditions. But those are really expensive. I've got 2 L-220's and I love them, but I put together a x-stand this past weekend, and I think millennium now has a contender for best stand. The millennium is still the heavier better made stand, but the x-stand had a lot of good things going on

I like my X Stand ladder.

Summit, well made in Alabama ! Didn't they get bought out by Ebsco and start importing stands? Yes they did, they are still assembled and packaged here.....if that counts.

Best ones I've ever seen are made by an individual over south of Dothan. We have some that are over 20 years old and are as good as the day they were first put up. Yep, I've got some that are around 15 years old myself. Another bonus is that it will take a couple of guys if they plan on stealing a double once you put it up, those stands are solid stands for sure. I can't remember his name because I haven't had to buy any in a long time.
