I'm tempted to buy the lot just for that 90s model buckshot. That's one of the best stands ever made. If nobody wants them by the end of the weekend, I will bring both of them to your house on next trip to the farm, and give them to you. Very generous gesture but there's no way I'd let you do that. 3F wants to buy the whole lot

If I didn't have to get to Sylacauga to get them I'd buy the lot. Those Buckshots are nice climbers.
Good deal for someone here if they use the stands correctly. Where do you live? I drive from Sylacauga to the Selma area most every week if that helps.

Man, all the countless hours I spent standing in the fork of a big oak, or climbing cotton picker spindles 30' up to 2 ft square plywood. Sit there with legs hanging off the edge till they went numb. When the the first Baker style climber came out, with no hand climber at all, we thought that was a huge advantage in treestands. Then we started building our own, making our own climbers and seats, redneck innovation at its finest. Kids today have no appreciation for invention.

Dam, Mark and Steve, you guys were uppity. Yes sir. I even used stainless steel cotton picker spindles for tree steps. Well, now that we've totally derailed this classified ad. Who shall we wreck next?

If you don't sell quick, PCP, I'll buy the lot. And give Outback a Buck Buster.

Outback, how did you hunt with the Buckshot? Did you just keep facing the tree or did you climb up in the seat? For gun hunting, I always just faced the tree and could brace against it when shooting.
I killed 5 or 6 bucks out of one tree from these stands. I had an isolated plot that I would plant and then put the stand on the tree that same day or the next day. I wouldn't go near the field again until opening week. The tree was about 50 yards south of the field and on the side of a bluff, so I had to climb about 35' to have a good view. After hunting it once the first week, I wouldn't go near it again until January. I had to wade a creek and walk about a half mile up a mountain to approach the stand without contaminating the area, but it produced a buck or 2 every season. This current generation of hunters is way too lazy to do all that.
One thing about the Buckshot, you better make dang sure you have a rope tied to the bottom section, as it was easy to lose control and drop it. And it would have been really tough to get down without it. I dropped it several times but I always had a rope on it.
I was blessed to never have a treestand accident. Many of my friends that hunted out of these type stands have fallen out. None of them were killed, but they had some bad injuries. I don't remember anyone falling due to stand failure, unless you count the old chain breaking. It always happened when they got careless and fell out and none of them were wearing a safety belt.

The best, and most comfortable way to hunt the buckshot is facing the tree. And keeping a rope tied to both pieces is good idea for all climbers. I still like to think I can use a climbing stand. There's an API predator waiting for me to make a the trade when I get up to north Alabama and get it done. I think I might be able to actually use that one because it is not difficult to climb, and it's not hard on the back. That may be my last climber.

I have climbed several times this season in my 1990s era Warren and Sweat. It has a hanging seat that is really comfortable when I get it situated just right. It doesn't take much effort to climb with it, but it weighs 22 pounds and it is really hard on my back to carry it. I hunted out of a ladder stand one morning and had a decent buck at 22 yards. He was on a trail that would have brought him within 10 yards, but he saw me in the 15' ladder. Didn't know what I was, but he took a detour that kept him about 40 yds away. If I had been in any one of the stands in this thread, I would have been up 25' and would have gotten an easy 10 yard shot. I probably would have shot over him anyway. I can't believe that nobody has commented on the brilliance of the engineering involved in the Conduit Stand. All the others were based on designs that someone else came up with, but I dreamed up this one myself. It is very light to carry and hang, rock solid on the tree, and reasonably comfortable with the heavily padded seat. I just have to sit up too straight in it for me to use it now, but this stand is just absolute genius. It would be worth taking all the stands just to get this one and be able to copy it. Guess it's obvious I am bored on a rainy Saturday with Auburn not playing football. Was gonna shoot doves today but they all left.

Brilliant engineering design on that conduit stand. I been riding around admiring the green hue over the food plots this morning.

1 or 2 climbs and theyll be cashing that Warren and Sweat stand in for scrap value. I had one nearly identical to it. It was sold under BPS brand but it was made by W&S. I climbed it one time. It was an uncomfortable stand but it was in a good spot so I just left it there all season but never hunted it again. At the end of the season I sold it for $10 in a yard sale.

Obviously a wimp from the pampered age of deer hunting. I climbed in it at least a dozen times. I don't remember ever killing a deer from it, but I remember passing several bucks smaller than I wanted to shoot. I bought it to hunt a specific tract that required a half mile walk, and this is one of the lighter climbers you can find. It is not real comfortable compared to a modern stand that costs $300, but it is way more comfortable and safer than a Baker. It actually has a seat, and the original Baker was a standing up stand. I've loaned it out to several guests over the years. Last guy to try to use it was too fat to fit inside it and wound up sitting on the ground. It's a stand only a real man would use, but it has to be a real man who will fit between the rails. Leroy is a Real Man and gets the stands. Thanks for looking!
