Popped on a site today and saw a Buck Knives 110 folder, with wood inlay and brass. Classic design, efficient, well made.
Anyone use this knife or have other "old" style knives like it that you use?
My dad has a Buck 110 folder. I've used Case Sodbuster folders for years; they're pretty good, not expensive and get the job one.

I have a 110 folder I found on a boat ramp 20 years ago or so. Couldn't imagine a nicer find. I used a fixed blade for game, 95% of the time.

I got a knife that my father bought me when I was born that stays in the safe. Other than that I use really anything sharp I can get my hands on for cleaning deer.
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

I used to carry one of those in my back pocket in middle school, next to my comb.

I have a couple 'ol timer "skinner"(?) knives I inherited from my dad. 1 would take and hold an edge good...the other, not so much. My go to is a gerber folder with a gut hook on it. I call it old...but not sure what old really is?
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I’ve got a bucklite 110 with the orange plastic handles that I’ve had for probably 30 years. That orange handle is why I’ve had it so long, easy to find when you lay it down in the leaves
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.

you won't buy a better folding hunting knife . when you wear the blade down in 20 years send it back and they'll reblade it .just not free!!!!

I’ve got a 110 folder I still tote in my pack that I’ve had for over 30 years. It’s got 40 notches on the handle for deer I killed and gutted with it. Ran out of room for any more notches. Broke almost a 1/2” off the tip trying to dig a broadhead out of a tree. Reshaped it and sharpened it back up. The only way you can tell it is when it’s closed.

I'll argue with you about the Buck 110 being the best. I'm still carrying a Gerber Folding Sportsman II. I'm partial to the drop point rather than the clip point, and the Gerber is about half the thickness of the Buck overall, so it carries a lot easier. Regardless, they were both quality craftsmanship in the late '70s early '80s. I wouldn't own a modern Gerber.
