I guess I'm getting old but seeing it now especially with coaches like Saban it just seems stupid. Do you think Coach Bryant would have allowed it? I mean it seems to fit with coaches like Gus etc but others it's just awkward.

I guess when you win a couple of bug games every 4-5 years, it's acceptable at some colleges. I'm surprised that the goal post are still standing, guess the security guards kept people off.

It's incredibly stupid, outdated, serves no purpose, was stupid in 1986 when the Giants began it -- think of that, it's 30+ years old -- and if I was a coach I'd have all those buckets emptied by the final horn.

Until a couple of coaches publicly say that it's stupid and they're ending it, it'll continue.

you don't typically see gatorade baths in last second/final play OT wins. That usually takes a few minutes of planning and organization, and that Win was far from "in the bag" until he actually caught the ball. and as soon as the ball was caught, they all ran onto the field. In the previous ones, he's gotten the bath....and honestly, I don't think he's ever minded it, given the circumstances.

I think Saban hates it, because it messes up his hair and clothes. I wouldn't like it.

He was pissed the year they hit him in the head.
