the symptons and the fact he works in dorm rooms. Sounded alot like spinal meningitis. I hate to even put that in the back of your mind, but youngins and parents need to be aware of that because time is of the essence. We had a scare last year with my son. My moms sitter actually came down with it, and my son had neck pain, headache, and nausea. He had no idea what the sitter had. And luckily it just turned out to be a stomach bug. But it had us terrified. Prayers for your son.

He's at Northern VA Medical Center in Arlington, VA. 2 bags of IV fluid, shots for nausea. Ran tests and blood work. All clear. Dr. calling it a stomach flu or possibly food poisoning, ruled out an appendicitis or any other medical issue. He's going to be ok. He just called and said he already feels "way better". Sounded like a different child...alert and not in pain. Had us worried 11 hours away.
I was packing a bag to head out tonight to get him. He just texted that he's going to be fine and wants to stay...taking tomorrow off to rest and hydrate, then working last two days of the trip. Proud of that but worried he may need to really take it easy.
My boys work part time during school year and full time in the summers for a company in Columbiana that sells and installs college dorm furniture (beds, tables, desks, chairs...heavy duty stuff)...warehouse work unloading trailers and stacking pallets by hand, putting stuff together. Separate install crews outfit the dorms. Last week they had an opportunity to go out on an installation in DC at Howard University. 10 days unloading semi trailers and hauling up furniture for a dorm tower renovation project. AL project manager is a great guy, so we felt comfortable letting them go. Good money...10 , 10 hour days at $12 per hour plus overtime. We home school and this is a great education, although not academic. Boys learn a lot with hard work and sweat. We are able to be flexible with school...Trade off was double lessons for 2 weeks and do some school work over spring break too to stay on target with school work. The work has been really hard and they have been exhausted each evening...says the 8 Alabama guys are working circles around the DC union construction crew that are helping them. They get it. Great lessons learned in my book.
Thanks for the prayers!! This makes me happy. Glad he's recovering. Hope it's food poisoning and not stomach bug. That would be bad with a bunch of kids on a trip.

This is the only time I've ever given a to the stomach bug. Glad it was something minor, relatively speaking.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Sounds like a hangover. Or the stomach bug. Either way, glad he's OK.

Thanks guys. He rested all day today and says he is feeling good enough to work the last 2 days, tomorrow and Sunday. Good thing is, last 2 days are light days with more organizing and final touches that all the heavy lifting and hauling. It has been a good experience for him. Samuel has always been my "worker"...likes to do hard manual work as much as he enjoys thinking. Caleb, well he has to really like what he is doing to really work at it hard or get paid and he'll bust his butt working. So this job has pushed him a lot which is good.
