spray paint squirrels wont chew on anything that is spray painted. I learned that roofing theyll chew up a pipe flashing in a year or two paint it they leave it alone. Dont know why it works but it does. ive got some barrel feeders i strap to trees i put sheet metal behind also to keep them from climbing to the timed broadcaster also.

I never had any luck stopping squirrels from chewing into and destroying My Boss Buck Feeder So I figured I would try another type Feeder. I bought 2 Banks 300lb gravity feeders. I got 2 Of the PVC sleeves that go over the 4X4 posts that the feeders sit on and I also bought 2 squirrel baffles from Lowe’s and put around the 4X4 posts. This is a squirrel proof setup and any other varmits that may try to climb onto the feeders. I have pics of squirrels, coons, and possums on the ground around the feeders eating the crumbs the deer left behind.

I had a feeder in a hardwood bottom a few years ago. The squirrels could get into anything I did. I have since thought about it and I think if I hung it from a cable and then drill into the body of the barrel and install some isolators and wrap 4-5 rounds of electric fence wire around the barrel.
Thats a lot of trouble but it might be fun to watch them get shocked off the barrel.

I just eradicated as many as I could during season with a .22. Fun shooting those bastages in the head. They literally destroyed an all metal Moultrie feeder. I was sure that thing would keep them at bay and the bigger capacity would last but it leaked and they destroyed it too. I've put cooking spray so they slide off. My metal feeder had a varmint cage that they destroyed. Even a feeder away from trees gets squirrels coming to it from the closest trees. They literally chewed holes in plastic Moultrie feeders and destroyed wiring and motor to feeder. I gave up and use some old flat out feeders that I have left.

To keep squirrels away from my bird feeders, I decided to try this wrap around squirrel baffle from Erva. I was so glad about its size because it is a whopping 23.25 inches in diameter! I love how huge it is because let us be honest – there are some big squirrels that are about the size of a Chihuahua and because of their weight, they can easily sway the cones!
