They showed videos that the Heaven’s Gate cult members had made just prior to the suicide where each one was sitting in front of the camera making a going away tape to leave behind. It was really weird listening to the folks talk because they were all so happy....they truly believed aliens were coming for them. It was creepy really. If humans want to believe something and convince themselves of it…..then it does something to them psychologically that cannot be overcome with any amount of logic. You take something that is missing in someone’s life and feed it to them….while introducing other ideas along the way that hook them deeper and deeper. Alex Jones is just preying upon that aspect of human psychology. He may or may not be crazy himself. He’s verging on being a cult leader himself though with his routine.

I don’t think he believes half the stuff he says. Just trying to entertain and make money.

You know, I’ve always thought the same thing…..that he knew what he was doing and was only playing people for the money……BUT……The more I’ve thought about it….the more I’m convinced that you just about have to be a little off yourself to do that. Even if your are just sitting back making money….well aware that you’re purposely manipulating the masses with crazy horse chit…..the amount of narcissism that one has to possess to do that is beyond normal.

One of the common threads I noticed amongst all of these cult leaders was an intense desire to be important. I think it was Freud who said that we do everything for two reasons….1) Sex drive….2) The need to be great or important…….These cult leaders have some sense of #2 that is above and beyond what is normal. If you’ll watch human behavior you’ll see the need to be important playing out over and over and over. Freud was spot on with that one. If you really want to be honest with yourself then any of is could probably look at our own actions and see how that holds true.

Anyways, I’m a nerd and get into weird chit. I find psychology to be a fascinating subject. Humans are odd creatures.

Another interesting thing about “the need to feel important”…..That’s one of the easiest ways to manipulate someone else. If you recognize that we’re all craving a sense of importance….then if you recognize that thing that they’re looking for that makes them feel important and give it to them…..then they become much more easily manipulated….

This’s what Charles Manson was doing fer example….He had some kind of out whack sense of self-importance. He found young girls who were missing something in their home lives….a sense of family or freedom, etc…..and he fed it to them along with feeding their need for being important…. and they became like putty in his hands to manipulate…up to the point of murder. He did it knowing exactly what he was doing too…..like calculated chess moves…..he was a narcissist. His sense of importance was above and beyond normal.

Alex Jones is probably narcissistic too. He’s just like the soft porn of manipulators compared to these other folks I’m talking about. The Sandy Hook stuff is pretty low life though….That’s why I say he’s gotta be whacked out too. If you can convince yourself that its ok to take your manipulation that far then you ain’t right. ...or you just don't have a conscious or soul...or whatever it is that gives you a sense of right and wrong.

So you don't think that Skinny or others have the right to ban trolls from Aldeer? If it is private and not done based on race, religion, creed, age, or national origin (I may be missing one), then they should have the right to ban him if they choose. Political ideology is not a basis for protection from the gov't.

The problem is - twitter, facebook, etc - have avoided any kind of regulation by claiming that they are not a media company and not responsible for the content that's posted on their sites/services. Kinda hard to claim that when you are obviously censoring whatever you want.

I didn't say they don't have the right, if you read what I wrote, i said it is 100% legal, I don't think that it is right but they can do it all day long, Skinny banning some troll and Twitter, facebook and the others banning Jones is a little different, technically Jones sit is a news outlet (not all of the stuff he puts out is crazy) like someone said above, just give it time and they will be banning true conservative news outlets....

I see it as very similar too…..If Facebook is a privately owned platform then they can choose to ban anyone they want just like Skinny can choose to ban anyone he wants to for any reason. Now, I don’t agree with the principal of banning someone just because you don’t like what they say or disagree with their opinions……..but they still have the right to do it if they choose.

Do y’all feel as strongly about these principles when someone is run off from here who’s views you don’t agree with??....JBC comes to mind……I didn’t see too many standing up for his right to have a different opinion. Just sayin…..We preach about “principal” all the time…..but seldom is still held up when the shoe is on the other foot.
