Anybody use one? I’ve looked at them many times in catalogs and online and thought I might like one. Just wanted to see if there were any real world opinions.

Strictly speaking for hunting purposes...The Leupold 6x42 and the Meopta 6x42 are two of my all time favorite scopes. Even the scopes I have that are variable power are set on 6x 99% of the time. Low enough power to have a decent FOV while enough magnification to make any shot under 200yds with ease.

Yessir! I’m always gonna shoot what makes me happy and I want everyone else to do the same! If you shoot one be proud of it and don’t worry what anyone else thinks. - SJ22

They’re great for stand hunting IF you get a thick reticle. They’re good for open country and okay for big, open, park woods.....but there’s better stuff for those that deal with really thick stuff and hunt stands and hunt other terrain. They’re very specific application scopes for me. Sure, you CAN shoot 10’-1000 yards with a fixed 6x, but you can also play 18 holes with nothing but a 6 iron, too.

A straight 6x is a nice all around woods scope. I used a 6x for a spell, but a 3x9 is a bit better if your shots can be over 100yds imo. I liked the fact that there's no fumbling with a pwr ring or an AO. Sometimes a few extra seconds puts meat on the table.
