As you can see by my post count, I've not been here that long. But I can't help feeling an overwhelming sense of pride for the thoughtfulness, generosity and warmth I've seen displayed among you folks. From one member giving another member a gun for his son for Christmas, to another member offering up a .22 for someone else to start this way of life and all the offers to help make these things possible.
I've seen good natured ribbings doled out to some and sincere care and concern for the well-being of others. I've asked questions and been given true, accurate answers.
I'm pretty old to have gotten into hunting (I'm 35 and this is my 3rd full season) but the farther down this rabbit hole I find myself, the less lost I feel. That's because so many of you are willing to take the time to offer support and help to those around you. You police those amongst us who need to have a reminder of what the term "Hunter" stands for and will stand up to those who would be willing to infringe on this way of life.
To each of you, I extend my deepest gratitude and hope that as I continue to learn and grow into being a "Hunter," that I can represent this community with the selflessness and integrity that is so prevalen throughout this site.

Its never too old to start hunting. I was 40 or was it 41 the 1st time I went into the woods to chase a turkey. I am sure you will be adding insight for us in no time Twalldre. Scout more than you hunt, and this is a great book. Book Here

grin

He lost me at Men of the highest order. I can think of maybe a duzen ( poorcountrypreacher, jono, claims rep, straycat, paulfish, soalturkeys, 3F farms and others ) folks that fall into that category but not the rest of us heathen.

Seriously, welcome to the forum and there are some dang good deer hunters on here to get info from but I ain't one of them. Next time you're at OB or GS eating at one of the many Aldeer recommended seafood restaurants and want to wet a line in the saltwater give me a holler. thumbup

Great third post TWalldre. It helps reminds us why we are part of this community of sportsman that would give the shirt of their collective backs to help another member.
