I am pretty sure I was watching Season 7 last nite, but man, they do such a great job. I ended up watching like five episodes. I even enjoyed the segment with Joe Rogan, who I am not a fan of. It is a believable, well-written show with some beautiful photography, and Steven seems like a guy you would really like to go on a hunt with. I will for certain binge watch the rest of the season in short order.

Rogan is an odd dude....and his stand-up stuff isn't really my type of thing, but man once Rinella introduced him to hunting in general, he jumped in with both feet. He is a hardcore bowhunter now, in particular.

I was thinking about the standup...tried to watch one and it turned me off. I have listened to some podcasts after my son recommended them, not crazy about those either, but he seemed OK with Rinella, didn't come across as a jerk. Rinella is really a good guy, I think.

Me personally, I like Rogan. He's a little out there but he has become a strong spokesman for hunting in a very anti hunting arena. I enjoy his podcasts depending on who he has on as a guest. As for Steves podcast, I haven't ever missed one. I can sure appreciate that about him! We need people in media who are pro-hunting! And some of the podcasts were OK, as I told my son after I listened to them. I had a hard time with the subject matter and the language in the stand-up. I am not a prude and I used to work with miners and construction workers and roadbuilders. I can burn the hair out of your ears if I have to! But since attempting to fully embrace my Savior, I just don't enjoy the filthy talk or the filthy thought. But as I said, he seemed pretty tame in that episode of Meateater I watched.

I can understand that. It doesn't phase me, and as bad as I hate to admit it I've gotten to where I have zero filter for the stronger words myself. What made me really notice it was when I turned on an episode of Rogans podcast while my dad and I were butchering a deer in his kitchen. He made me turn it off about 5 mins in ![rofl rofl](/forum/images/graemlins/default/roflmao.gif)

I'm in the same boat as you, as far as the language is concerned. I don't consider myself to be "offended" by bad language in most cases, and use it myself more than I'd like to admit (although, like you, I'm working on that). But with tv/movies/etc....at some point it gets to the point of being distracting. A perfect example of a show being ruined by it is Deadwood. Fantastic show, with mostly great writing...but I usually end up giving up on it after an episode or two because literally every other word is "f***" or "c***sucker"....... You want to reach through the tv screen and just shake the hell out of the actors and tell them "we get it, you're on HBO and you can say whatever you want, but that doesn't mean you have to"...

Watched the rest of the season of MeatEater. It's just so good. But, man, does Steven like the word "man". "man, that buck was a long way away, man." Man, man, man. But at least he's not using a whole bunch of profanity. I just can't abide a lot of that anymore, and if you knew me in the past, you'd be surprised at that. I used to cuss like a longshoreman.

The best thing about MeatEater is that it is real and they avoid naming product brand names unless somehow it is specifically pertinent to what they are doing.
I can deal with cussing on TV as long as it is not gratuitous. Deadwood probably went a little over the line although I'm sure people of those days and places let the words fly. Too many G.D.s will make me quite uncomfortable with a show. I admit I let some words fly sometimes too, but rarely, and only under the most extreme duress has G.D. ever come from my mouth.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
