I hope you get it straightened out. I hope your field lines aren't backing into the tank or the that the tank itself or lid has a crack. Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have roots in your field lines.

With the lid off - they should be able to check for both. I don't want to sound like I know anything about it, but the last time they did ours they did a very thorough inspection and checked both.

Just a thought...

I had this problem a little over a month ago. Lines would not drain due to the oversaturated ground. I had standing water on the ground above my field lines that was 4" deep for over a week. I had to get a sump pump in a 5 gallon bucket to pump the water off my lawn to help it start drying out. Then I had my tank pumped to help some too.

I'm done with this wet weather. Bring on a drought and hot weather!

I've noticed water pooling around my septic tank the last few days. Started smelling it yesterday.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

Hope they pumped both sides of your tank. Should have a baffle wall in there. Add risers so you don’t have to dig it up next time. Also if you don’t have a 2-way cleanout on your inlet line, install one. That way next time you can just remove the cap and let the sewage run out on the ground instead of in your house.

If it hasn’t been real long since last pumped (less than 5-6 years depending on how many in household, especially a bunch of females) the crust may have you stopped up if you don’t have a sanitary T on inlet line in tank. I’ve seen some people just run a straight pipe into tank and that’s all. All the solids (paper) gets hard on top n blocks it.

Rain keeps the septic business busy.

Yup, he showed up around 9:30. My tank is only about 4-5 inches below ground. I just found the solid side and uncovered the lid, it didn't take that long. He showed up and finished uncovering the other end. The waste side was probably 90% full. The drainage side was full of water. He said the field lines were working good. As it turns out there had been quit a bit of junk put in the toilet that should not have been put there. I had a 90 degree down pipe the he cut about 2-3 feet off of so he could use his pump the suck out the real clog. Once this was done the toilets flushed well and everything drained as it should. He suggested that I dig out the feeder pipe and put some more gravel under it because it looked like it had sunk a little bit. Over all he made it out within two hours in the pouring rain and lightning and had the job done in no-time.
