Years ago I can remember my dad taking us kids to a pay to fish trout pond once, and a pay to fish catfish lake. They both would have been a hr or less from Bham. They charged by the # for what you kept. Anyone know of any nowdays around?

Down towards Marion there's a place that charges $100 1/2 day per person.

Had a couple trout and catfish ponds in McCalla years ago that charged by the pound, that place closed about 15-16 years ago I guess. It was open on weekends and had, best I remember, 6 ponds that they rotated fishing in. It was always packed on weekends not sure why they stopped You can thank Mary Buckalew for closing them. They were too close to her golf course that was built with county equipment.
