In may many years coaching and having my kids play you will very rarely see anything like this in Travel Ball: https://www.foxnews.com/us/baseball-brawl-colorado-childrens-gameIn my many years as park president and coaching at the local rec park we have had to call the law or break up fights multiple times. In travel ball I think I have seen a couple coaches get a little out of hand but nothing like this.

Idiots everywhere..... Doesn't matter if it's travel ball or rec ball.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Inexcusable and pathetic, but thankfully it was just fists and not guns.

Have y’all seen the one where the kid catcher gets tossed and gives the double finger to the umpire? I saw it on ESPN yesterday. Damn shame somebody’s kid acted like that.

Describe "kid"...I know of a hs senior (with a kid's maturity level) that was tossed twice and should have been tossed multiple other times for similar actions.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

It's obvious that kid hasn't had the belt across his arse growing up. He didn't appear to have any respect or fear of authority.

That’s what happens when your son is the only serious one out there and the others just kick rocks and play in dirt. Dang straight. Gotta start em at 3 or 4 in travel ball so they’ll get good coaching

Totally different attitude with respect for the game and people involved. Not all rec ball kids or parents act like this but my observation is there have been more that act this way in one vs the other.

This brawl erupted when the umpire who was 13 made a call regarding batting out of turn and one of the teams took exception to his ruling and the brawl began.

The very fact that anyone in the entire park was paying attention to batting order with 7 year olds is what amazes me. The sports I’ve coached 7 year olds in involved parents that never wouldn’t remotely noticed such a detail.

Too many crazy people in this world, especially parents of kids that play sports, for a 13 year old to be umpiring.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

No. I think his point is this. In travel ball for the most part the people don’t know each other as well as they do in rec ball and there is not as much if any built up resentment like there is in hometown rec ball. Now there are a bunch of bonds formed in travelball. My oldest son played from a 8yr old until he was 18 and to this day he still runs into guys he’s played with and against. Some playing pro ball now others playing softball. Out of all of those years I never saw one fight from player, coach or fan. Now I can’t say the same thing for rec ball. I also think it’s because there’s no poor little Johnny attitudes out there because all of the travel ball players play at a higher level of play.
