Meh..

They’re a lot of fun when they actually work. I’ve had nothing but trouble out of everything moultrie the past year or two. I’m swapping to something else and I’d say spend your money on something better and save the headache for yourself.

With exception of one older model all my Moultries turned out to be junk. Look at Cuddeback as you can get a 2 year warranty by registering online and discounted repairs for five years. Something like that. There are others too that folks have discussed on here. I'm giving Cuddeback a look as all my Cuddebacks are still functioning after 4 years.

Bought one 2 months ago and couldn't get it to work. Customer service said I needed a new unused memory card (was using a freshly formatted but used card) and Energizer batteries and call her back.

Whatever. I returned it instead.

Bought a Spypoint Micro. Used card and Amazon batteries....works fine.

I’d rethink the SPYPOINT. It sucks

We have a Moultrie Mobile and two Spartan Go Cams and the Spartans are hands down better. The Moultrie will stop sending pics for no apparent reason requiring a reboot. I've had the Spartan's running since the start of May with zero issues.

I'm gonna try Moultrie next week. With the rebate, couldn't pass. Also, If I don't like it I'll return for refund first 30days. I've only had 1 issue with 7 Moultrie cams so, fingers crossed

I will add that I believe Spartans are the best going. Here, cell signals are a bit screwy so, even they have some issues.

It's just a comment on a Moultrie question... I know some of you hate them but, I've never said I love them, just that I've had no more bad luck with them vs other brands.
Worse brand for us has been Bushnell and I think between 3 of us we have 3+ cams from every brand.

I'm going to share a bit of advice with you guy's that are trying to enter the cellular camera market on a budget. Do yourself a big favor and don't do it. Nearly every review out there on Moultrie and Spypoint should send up a red flag when reading them. Granted there are few folks that have had good results but they are few and far between.

Save up some extra money and invest in a Spartan or Covert. I have had nothing but excellent results out of the Covert cellular cameras (Own 7) but have recently bought a Spartan. For $260 to my door which is considerably cheaper than Covert I was willing to give them a try based off the reviews and opinions of friends that own them.

There is nothing more frustrating than to have trouble from these budget cameras. It's almost a guarantee with these cameras!

I understand your point completely. The moultrie have just came out so, im doing a cheap test lol. As far as Spartan, I agree they the best along with Covert but, I know of a couple being out performed by lesser cams. My neighbors hiked in a few times(6 miles) to retrieve his cam having SIM card issues. It's his "replacement cam". Guess thats the problem with electronics, even the best gets bugs.
With a 30 day trial run, im good as far as returning. Hoping not to use their 2yr warranty. Will find out soon and post updates.

I think I’ll take your advise and do just this. Thanks

I went and got the Cuddelink duel cell today for $200. I can run it as a stand alone or add more cameras when I get the chance.

I used to have some issues with Moultrie mobile but none this year so far. No major issues. However the cuddelink system model is appealing to me and I’m planning to transition to it next summer.

Had moultrie mobile for 2 years, never had a problem really except initial setup. I bought a spypoint micro when they dropped and have not had any issues except letting my son setup initially. Just purchased another spypoint.

That being said, I would use either. The monthly costs on the spypoint are what appeals to me.

Cuddeback, cameras seem nice but the mesh network bothers me. In a high-rise roof to roof transfer mesh networks are great. But down in the woods it can get tenuous. Haven't had one just because I prefer the idea of individual camera transmissions.
