Is the Hale one any good? never been to it. was considering signing up. Went to one that was a barrel burner. Lots of drama after the one after that. Giving it another go this year since the Cullman shoot isn't happening this year.

I'm going to the Talladega hunt with my two boys - never been to one of these and looking forward to it. Anyone know anything about that hunt? I haven't been to that particular hunt, but I've noticed they vary a good bit from location to location. Some you just show up and hunt after the safety briefing. Others will have free food/drinks. Even went to one where they had door prizes for every single kid.

My and my daughter will be at the one in Madison County on the 14th.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Anyone been to the Baldwin County one near Fairhope? I shot it with my two boys about 5 or 6 yrs ago. Last hunt before they were too old. Good shoot. Get on the back fence line in between where the big pines hit the property line and the little gum head. Most birds came in the field high from across the highway or to the east then dropped down and tried to get back out through that gap between the two. No shade in that spot but if the birds are there and flying good, you wont have to sit long if you and your kids can shoot. They started flying around 3:15 and we were at the truck packing up, picking birds and shooting the bull with the GWs at 4:15.

Do the youth need any kind of license, registration, or form to hunt if they’re 14? Nope

Hal, you talking about the one that is actually on the west side of I-65 that they call the Atmore shoot? Kind of east of the prison area? If so, we went there two years ago, and it wasn't bad at all. Kids got a bunch of shooting in. Some spots were better than others. Folks who host it are great. I'm not going to say it was fantastic, but it was better than a lot of hunts I've been on.
