Had 4 different things on the egg for a total of 4 hours this afternoon. Bone in, skin on lemon pepper chicken thighs, a big Flathead fillet, okra (with Tony C's) and cabbage. All are mighty fine.

Baby Back Ribs and Chicken leg quarters with Mrs. Irish's homemade rub smoked on my Kamado for about 6 hours and served with our friend's roasted sweet potatoes and Mrs. Irish's sweet vinegar slaw...

OK, two of y'all answer up:

FURFLYIN - How did you do your okra? Roasted? If so, for how long?

IRISH -- Ditto for the sweet taters.

Both of those look great.

Clem I cooked the okra directly on the grate, but with indirect heat because of the "plate setter" I had on the grill. It takes longer to "bake" things on the grill than it does in the oven. I cooked the okra for over 45 minutes. I never turned it once I put it on there. For seasoning and prep I just coated with olive oil and shook on a liberal dose of Tony C's. The okra is not slimy, at all like it does when it's boiled or baked. The sheen on it in the picture is caused by the olive oil, not moisture. It's my absolute favorite way to eat okra. Even better than fried.

I honestly don't know. Our friend Bettina brought the sweet potatoes. I'll ask her.

We had sort of a freezer clean out.
Smoked 34 dove breasts(from last year)
,4 snapper fillets,6 beeliner fillets & 2 speckled belly goose breasts.
Wasn't too shabby!
